2007…For fifth time in six years, Rio Rancho wins 5A title to cement dynasty status: Rams 3, La Cueva 1

2006…A thriller in the championship as Rams squeak by Las Cruces in five games, finishing off 23-1 season

2005…Start of three-in-a-row for coach Toby Manzanares’ crew as Rio Rancho beats rival Cibola in a four-game finale for 5A

2003…For second straight year, Rams prove too much for Eldorado and, this time, it’s a sweep for the 5A championship

2002…First title for Rio Rancho in volleyball as Rams upend Eldorado 3-1 for Class 5A honors

Girls Soccer
2007…Spectacular three-goal comeback sends 5A championship in overtime, where Rio Rancho gets first soccer title by beating Sandia 4-3

Boys Basketball
2007…Standout Marcus Williams & Co. deliver first hoops title to school when Rio Rancho knocks off Manzano 76-65 in 5A finale

Rio Rancho’s Max Ortega accomplished what only two in New Mexico have ever done when, in 2009, he won a wrestling state tournament for a fifth straight time. Other multiple winners include Matt Ortega (four times, 2004-07), Louis Trujillo (four times, 2007-10), Vicente Varela (four times, 2005-08), Matt Nunez (three times, 2009-11), Shea Nolan (three times, 2009-11) and Nick Ramirez (three times, 2002-05)

2009…It’s two out of three years for the 5A blue trophy as Rio Rancho nips La Cueva 6-5 in the championship

2007…Rams and coach Ron Murphy seize first baseball crown by defeating Mayfield 4-1

2003…Rio Rancho, led by coach Paul Kohman, upends Alamogordo by a 4-3 count and lays claim to softball first-place trophy for the first time
